School developments.

Ms Shields has been working with the year 3's and year 6's this term.  If you look out the front near the year 4 classes you will see we have begun to develop a new garden.  The year 3's are planning to plant some Roman herbs in the garden linking with their Roman topic.  The year 6's have been litter picking around the school and clearing grass around the orchard to help the trees grow.
Next term Ms Shields will be helping year 1 to clear their garden ready to plant some new plants in the spring term.  She will also be working with the year 5's to maintain and develop new areas around the school.
How do you think we could develop areas around the school areas around the school? Do you have any more ideas for our new garden? Think about what would make the school a nicer environment for us and also what might attract more wildlife to the school.

  1. Maybe we could make some bird houses and squirrel houses with a window on one side so children can see the squirrels. For outdoor learning we could plant flowers that attract butterfly's, What do you think Miss Joseph, reply.

    1. Since it's winter we could plant special plants that can survive in cold conditions. I'm not sure what plants or flowers but I'll research some. If I find any I will be amazed because winter is quite cold and plants need a lot of sunlight and warmth.

    1. That is a lovely Idea Maggie. I am looking into getting some poppies. Do you know what time of year is best to plant them? Where do you think would be the best place to plant them?

    2. great idea but maybe next time we could do the planting poppies a bit earlier so they have time to grow.

  6. I think we should try to improve the jubilee garden because the decorations have fallen off and when it snows we can make sure the trees are all right.
